Kalitta Air is seeking an Assistant Chief Pilot to manage the day-to-day functions of all pilots, reporting to the Chief Pilot. This position, located in Ypsilanti, MI, US, will ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
About the Role

Manage the day-to-day functions of all pilots as directed by the Chief Pilot.

Ensure flight crew members adhere to Kalitta’s policy and procedures, providing an exceptional customer experience with the highest level of safety.

Prepare and distribute applicable crewmember instructions, bulletins, and manual information.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure regulatory compliance with the FAA, ICAO, and EASA.

Assist the Chief Pilot with interviewing and hiring pilots.

Act on behalf of the Chief Pilot when required.
Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

No restrictions on International Travel.

Must possess a current US Passport.

Ability to pass a 10-year security background check and pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
Qualifications
-
FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate or Restricted Multi-Engine Airline Pilot Certificate.

Minimum of 2500+ hours of total flight time, with 4000 hours preferred.

Military pilots must have >1000 hours total time; turbine and PIC hours are flexible.

Minimum of 1500 turbine (Jet) flight time.

Minimum of 500 PIC turbine (Jet) flight time.

Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.

FCC Radio License.
Preferred Experience and Education
-
Previous experience as a Check Airman, Assistant Chief Pilot, Chief Pilot, Fleet Manager, or Director of Operations at a FAR 121/135 carrier is preferred.

An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field is preferred.

Previous Boeing aircraft operating experience is preferred.

Ability to successfully complete Kalitta Air’s Captain upgrade program on a B747 or B777.
