Pilot in Command
Jet Aviation, a distinguished leader in global aviation since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Pilot in Command to join its team of professionals. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Captain, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures, while prioritizing safety, security, and the highest standards of quality. As the final authority for the safe conduct of assigned flights, the Pilot in Command will exercise comprehensive control and judgment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- At least 1,500 hours of multi-engine land flight time.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of turbojet flight time.
- Accumulated 1,500 hours of turbine time.
- A minimum of 100 hours of night flight experience.
- At least 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- Five years of demonstrated aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules as required.
- Unrestricted ability and willingness to travel extensively worldwide.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate the aircraft safely and proficiently, determining optimal departure times and routes, and making sound judgments regarding flight cancellations due to weather or other conditions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Make necessary adjustments to flight plans based on en route conditions, adhering to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct flights with utmost safety and prudence, adhering to both industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all flight aspects by the Second in Command.
- Meticulously record all aircraft discrepancies in the log, reporting them immediately to the Director of Maintenance or designee, and take required actions based on the MEL and as directed.
- Verify that all flight crew members report for duty in the appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for flight.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including all emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from FAA flight service stations or other authorized agencies.
- File or ensure a flight plan is filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Thoroughly analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) in compliance with applicable security programs.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the Second in Command.
- Share knowledge and skills with the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command duties.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control after each flight day.
- Actively participate in fostering open communication regarding all safety issues, reporting hazards and concerns promptly.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties while retaining full responsibility for their proper execution.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation positively internally and externally, including engagement with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands:
The position requires the ability to use hands and fingers for handling, feeling, and reaching, along with frequent standing, walking, or sitting. Occasional requirements include climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds above the head occasionally is necessary. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes both heavy maintenance and upscale customer areas. Noise levels are generally moderate, with occasional high volume when aircraft arrive or depart. Employees may encounter vibration and occasional exposure to fuel fumes. The ability to work in varying weather conditions is required. The hangar environment may experience extreme heat or cold during specific times of the year.
