Position Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Chief Pilot, the Lead Captain assumes full Pilot-in-Command authority, upholding company policies and procedures while prioritizing safety, security, and quality in all flight operations. The Lead Captain serves as the final authority for all flight-related decisions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing Flight Time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land Flight Time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command Time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet Flight Time.
- 1500 hours Turbine Flight Time.
- 100 hours Night Flight Time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument Flight Time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness to undertake extensive international travel without restrictions.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safe aircraft operation, including flight planning, departure time determination, route selection, and flight cancellation decisions based on weather or other relevant factors.
- Strict adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Crew scheduling and coordination, including the utilization of supplemental crew as necessary.
- Collaboration with the Maintenance Manager regarding aircraft servicing and cleaning.
- Oversight of flight and duty records and other essential documentation from assigned crew members.
- Maintenance of current aircraft manuals, Jeppesen charts/EFBs, and delegation of tasks as required.
- Coordination of crew training and check rides in conjunction with the Manager of Training, adhering to the annual training calendar.
- Effective scheduling of crew time off and training events to maximize aircraft availability.
- Verification of crew member fitness for duty (mental and physical).
- Mentoring and coaching of crew members to foster professional development.
- Annual performance reviews for assigned crew members.
- Attendance at Lead Captain meetings.
- Assistance to Account Directors as needed.
- Participation in flight crew recruitment.
- Implementation of necessary en-route adjustments to ensure flight continuation within company guidelines.
- Conduct of flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurate completion of all trip paperwork.
- Comprehensive briefing of the second-in-command on all flight aspects.
- Timely logging and reporting of aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance.
- Thorough knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure aircraft post-flight, including arranging hangar storage when necessary.
- Obtaining current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- Flight plan filing with relevant authorities.
- Chart analysis for intended landing airports and alternates.
- Functioning as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Flight Security Coordinator (FSC) as per applicable security programs.
- Conducting or assigning passenger safety briefings.
- Development of the second-in-command's capabilities for Pilot-in-Command duties.
- Timely submission of leg manifests and End-of-Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Proactive participation in safety information sharing and hazard reporting.
- Immediate reporting of hazardous actions or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegation of duties while maintaining accountability for their completion.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Representing Jet Aviation internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to perform tasks involving repetitive hand and finger movements, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds is frequent; lifting up to 50 pounds is occasional. The position necessitates various visual capabilities.
The work environment encompasses both hangar maintenance areas and upscale customer interaction spaces. Noise levels are generally moderate but may intensify during aircraft arrivals and departures. Exposure to vibrations, occasional fuel fumes, and varied weather conditions is inherent. The hangar environment can experience extreme temperature fluctuations.
