Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all flight assignments, with an unwavering emphasis on safety, security, and quality. The PIC exercises ultimate authority over all assigned flights, ensuring compliance with company operating policies and procedures and acting as the final decision-maker for the safe conduct of each flight.
Minimum Requirements
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating for the Gulfstream G650.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical certificate.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours of total fixed-wing flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of multi-engine land flight time.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of turbojet flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of turbine flight time.
- Minimum of 100 hours of night flight time.
- Minimum of 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine optimal departure times and routes, and make informed decisions to cancel flights based on weather or other critical conditions.
- Ensure all flights are conducted in strict adherence to federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary in-flight adjustments to maintain flight continuity in accordance with company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct all flights in a safe, prudent, and professional manner, meeting industry and company standards.
- Complete all trip-related paperwork accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of all flight aspects with the Second in Command.
- Meticulously record all aircraft discrepancies as they occur in the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or their designee. Collaborate with the DOM or designee to determine if an inoperative item can be deferred or requires repair, completing the log as necessary.
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty in appropriate attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage when deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies such as FAA Flight Service Stations.
- File or ensure the filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state Air Traffic Control facility.
- Analyze area, en-route, and terminal charts for the destination airport and alternates.
- Perform the duties of the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required by applicable security programs (e.g., Twelve Five Standard Security Program or Private Charter Standard Security Program).
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the Second in Command.
- Mentor and impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for emergency situations or future upgrades to PIC.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest to Ops Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to Ops Control upon the conclusion of each flight day.
- Actively participate in promoting an open environment for sharing safety information and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- While duties may be delegated, the responsibility for those duties remains with the Pilot in Command.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation as a unified entity both internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Employees must be comfortable working in both heavy maintenance environments and upscale customer areas. Noise levels are typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee will frequently be exposed to vibration and may occasionally encounter fuel fumes. Employees must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures during different seasons.
