Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking an accomplished and highly experienced Gulfstream 650 Captain (Pilot in Command) to join its elite flight services team in Burbank, CA. This pivotal role involves reporting to the Lead Captain and holding ultimate responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flight operations. The Captain exercises full Pilot in Command authority, serving as the final arbiter for flight safety and operational excellence. Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) with an appropriate Gulfstream 650 Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- Minimum 100 hours Night flight time.
- Minimum 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without any restrictions.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
Key Responsibilities
The Gulfstream 650 Captain's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operating the Gulfstream 650 aircraft, determining optimal departure times and routes, and making critical decisions regarding flight cancellations based on operational or meteorological conditions.
- Ensuring meticulous adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures for every flight.
- Exercising sound judgment to institute necessary in-flight changes due to en route conditions, always maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting all flight operations in a prudent manner, upholding the highest industry and company safety standards.
- Accurately completing all required trip documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining clear, comprehensive communication and understanding with the Second in Command regarding all facets of the flight.
- Diligent recording and immediate reporting of all aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or their designee, utilizing the Approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) to assess deferral or repair requirements.
- Verifying that the flight crew is properly attired, mentally alert, and physically fit for duty.
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all assigned aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Securing the aircraft post-flight, arranging for hangar storage as deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtaining and analyzing the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies.
- Filing or ensuring the filing of flight plans with the appropriate Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities.
- Thorough analysis of area, en route, and terminal charts for the destination and alternate airports.
- Performing duties as the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as mandated by applicable security programs.
- Conducting or delegating comprehensive passenger safety briefings.
- Mentoring and developing the Second in Command, imparting essential knowledge and skills for potential upgrade or emergency situations.
- Accurately completing and submitting the leg manifest and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control as required.
- Actively supporting a culture of safety by sharing information, reporting hazards, and immediately reporting any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Representing Jet Aviation professionally, both internally and externally, including engagement with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
- Performing other duties as assigned by management. While duties may be delegated, the ultimate responsibility remains with the Pilot in Command.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role requires physical agility, including the ability to frequently use hands and fingers, stand, walk, or sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. Specific vision capabilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, are essential. The dynamic work environment ranges from heavy aircraft maintenance areas to upscale customer lounges. It involves exposure to moderate to loud noise, occasional vibration, fuel fumes, and various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures within hangar environments during certain seasons.
