Position Summary:
The Lead Captain plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all flight assignments. Reporting to the Regional Chief Pilot, this individual embodies the company's unwavering commitment to safety, security, and the highest standards of service. Exercising Pilot in Command authority, the Lead Captain assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe conduct of all assigned flights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Flight Operations: Safely operate the aircraft, exercising sound judgment in determining departure times, routes, and cancellations based on weather and other critical factors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure complete adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout all flight operations.
- Crew Management: Effectively coordinate aircraft scheduling and training for assigned crew members, utilizing supplemental crew as required. Oversee the submission and review of flight and duty records, ensuring meticulous documentation practices.
- Aircraft Maintenance: Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager on aircraft servicing, cleaning, and maintenance requirements. Actively monitor aircraft manuals and Jeppesen charts/EFBs to ensure currency.
- Training & Development: Partner with the Manager of Training to facilitate crew member training and check rides, aligning with the annual training calendar. Mentor and coach crew members, fostering their professional growth and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Safety & Risk Management: Proactively identify and report safety hazards, ensuring a culture of open communication regarding safety issues. Take immediate action and reporting in the event of hazardous actions, conduct, or occurrences.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Assist the Account Director as needed, providing seamless support and embodying Jet Aviation's commitment to exceptional service.
- Additional Responsibilities: Participate in Lead Captain meetings, contribute to the hiring process for flight crew, and undertake other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- 4000+ hours Total Fixed Wing flight time
- 1500+ hours Multi-Engine Land experience
- 2000+ hours Pilot-in-Command experience
- 1500+ hours Turbojet flight time
- 1500+ hours Turbine aircraft experience
- 100+ hours Night flying experience
- 75+ hours Actual or Simulated Instrument experience
- 5+ years of aviation industry experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel extensively worldwide without restrictions
