JSX First Officer Job Description

JSX is currently seeking qualified and dedicated First Officers to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend the best of corporate and commercial aviation within a Part 135 air carrier, providing scheduled service to key cities across the West, Central, and East Coasts. JSX fosters an environment that prioritizes a high quality of life for its pilots, offering mostly day trips, base selection to minimize commuting, and the avoidance of commercial terminal hassles by operating from private hangars.

Position Overview:

A JSX First Officer is an essential team member responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of JSX aircraft and the secure transportation of customers. They work closely with the Pilot-in-Command to ensure adherence to all regulations and company procedures.

Current Base Locations:

  • White Plains, New York
  • Burbank, California

Please Note: Given JSX’s operating model, it is highly encouraged that candidates reside locally or be prepared to relocate. Candidates should have updated flight hour logs readily available before starting the application process.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Multi Certificate or Commercial Multi Certificate is required.
  • A minimum of 800 hours total flight time is required (military exceptions may apply).
  • Minimum of 50 hours multi-engine flight time is required; 100 hours is preferred.
  • Minimum of 75 hours of instrument (actual or simulated) flight time is required; 100 hours is preferred.
  • 75-100 hours flight time in the last year is preferred.
  • Turbine engine experience is required.
  • Must hold a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Must possess a valid and current Passport.
  • Must demonstrate fluency in the English language.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute all flight duties as assigned by the Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • Maintain a current medical certificate as required by the company and promptly notify the Chief Pilot of any medical conditions that might affect flight performance.
  • Maintain vigilance to ensure the security of the aircraft, paying special attention to individuals who may have boarded without proper escort.

Physical Demands:

  • The role requires intermittent physical activity, including bending, reaching, and prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to work all assigned shifts.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 5-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally team lift 50+ pounds.
