Fixed Wing Pilot (King Air C90)
A distinguished aviation services provider is seeking an experienced and safety-oriented Fixed Wing Pilot to facilitate critical medical air transportation operations. This essential role is based in Blanding, Utah, and requires expertise in operating the King Air C90 turboprop aircraft. - Annual Salary Range: $102,956.89 – $113,260.96
Compensation and Incentives
The company offers a highly competitive salary structure complemented by significant bonuses and comprehensive support:
- $15,000 Sign-On Bonus (contingent upon successful completion of training and check ride).
- $40,000 Retention Bonus (distributed over a 3-year program, subject to a 6-month waiting period).
- No Training Contract requirement.
- Relocation Assistance up to $3,000.
- Company Paid ATP-CTP (Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program), if the candidate has not previously completed it.
- Company Paid Crew Housing while on rotation.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for executing day and night medical air transportation trips with precision and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating effectively with a team of medical experts to ensure the safe transport of patients to and from various facilities and locations.
- Ensuring absolute aircraft readiness for all flight dispatches, adhering rigorously to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company requirements, and conducting necessary aircraft cleanliness duties.
- Maintaining meticulous and accurate company and regulatory documentation, including shift records and load manifests.
- Communicating and collaborating seamlessly with air dispatch, ground dispatch, fellow flight crews, facilities, and partner organizations.
- Providing comprehensive shift change information to the transitioning pilot and team, following established protocols for recording company change board details.
- Maintaining all required certifications and actively participating in ongoing ground and air training programs.
- Upholding the highest standards of on-time performance, reliability, and professionalism in service delivery.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following certifications and flight experience metrics:
- Commercial Airplane Multi Engine Land (C-AMEL) Certificate is required.
- Commitment to obtaining the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate within five years of employment.
- A current FAA First- or Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- Flight Hours Requirements:
- Total Flight hours: 2,500
- Fixed Wing hours: 2,000
- Pilot in Command (PIC) hours: 1,000
- Cross Country hours: 500
- Multi-Engine hours: 500
- Night hours: 100
- Instrument hours: 75 (with a minimum of 50 actual hours)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in single pilot IFR operations is preferred.
- Prior experience in medevac or cargo operations is highly desirable.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent is desired.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The nature of emergency medical transport requires flexibility and physical capability:
Working Conditions:
- The pilot is required to work in external weather conditions, including exposure to the elements.
- Must be capable of working assigned night, day, and overnight shifts.
- Duties may involve assisting with de-icing the aircraft, aiding in towing and maneuvering the aircraft in and out of the hangar, and preparing the plane for flight.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, balance, sit, crouch, kneel, or crawl unassisted for extended periods of time.
- The role may involve assisting with patient loading, requiring the ability to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulatively with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
