Tenax is actively recruiting a highly professional and skilled King Air B200/350 Firefighting Pilot to join its esteemed operational team. This full-time, remote position involves crucial support for diverse programs across various U.S. locations. The selected pilot will demonstrate exceptional independence and technical expertise, operating with unwavering adherence to company, customer, and regulatory standards. A paramount focus on safety, reliability, and mission success is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for specialized aerial missions utilizing modified King Air aircraft.
- Operate the Beechcraft King Air B200 as a single pilot in all weather conditions; qualification for single-pilot King Air 350 operations is highly desirable.
- Execute precise aerial flight operations in strict accordance with customer specifications.
- Successfully complete all required biannual training to meet Part 135 standards.
- Conduct functional check flights as mandated.
- Perform command pilot duties with technical operator crews and, when necessary, other Tenax or contract pilots.
- Ensure strict compliance with all aircraft manufacturer requirements, flight manuals, directives, company policies, and mission-specific procedures.
- Contribute to aircraft upkeep, scheduling, safety management, and fueling operations.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections and briefings.
- Support overall program success by consistently exceeding customer expectations and performing duties with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Schedule and Travel
Fire Season (Approximately March - October): 12 days on duty / 8 days off.
Off Season: 7 days on duty / 7 days off.
Operations are dynamic and responsive to customer needs, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Significant CONUS travel is expected; relocation is not a requirement for this position.
Work Environment
This role necessitates extensive travel. The work environment encompasses both office settings and field operations, including airports and mission sites, utilizing standard office and aviation equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
- FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
- Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Beechcraft King Air 350 type rating; single-pilot privileges are preferred.
- Minimum Flight Experience:
- Total Time: 3,000 hours
- Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 1,200 hours (200 hours in category/class flown - King Air)
- Cross-Country: 500 hours
- Instrument: 50 hours inflight, 75 hours actual/simulated
- Night PIC: 200 hours
- Make/Model: 25 hours in King Air B200/350
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Successful completion of all required training, checks, and drug testing per program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Extensive experience operating the Beechcraft King Air B200 and/or B350.
- Familiarity with Pro Line 21 and Fusion avionics systems.
- Previous firefighting or air attack flight experience.
- Current USDA/DOI interagency card.
- 100 fixed-wing hours within the preceding 12 months.
- 10 hours in make/model within the preceding 12 months.
- Prior operational experience supporting fire containment or airborne data collection missions.
