Global Medical Response (GMR), an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, presents an opportunity for active-duty U.S. Military Service Members to acquire valuable civilian experience within the medical response sector through comprehensive training, internships, and on-the-job training.
This SkillBridge program facilitates a 90-day placement for active-duty personnel during their final six months of service. Participants will continue to receive their military pay and benefits, and will not be compensated by GMR. Program start dates are coordinated with company onboarding schedules and Service Member availability.
Minimum Required Qualifications for the SkillBridge Program:
- Current Active-Duty Service Member.
- Meets all Department of Defense SkillBridge qualifications.
- Available for the entire 90-day program duration.
- Has secured written approval from their unit commander (O-4 or above), understanding that participation may be terminated by the Service due to mission requirements.
During the SkillBridge Program:
- Most locations operate on a 7/7 schedule.
- 24-hour base housing is provided at most locations.
Potential Employment Following SkillBridge Program Completion:
While SkillBridge participation does not guarantee future employment, GMR/Guardian Flight offers the following for newly hired Pilots:
- Starting base salary ranging from $91,167.60 to $100,284.36, or higher based on experience and aircraft type.
- Geographic modifier of 0% to 70%, based on location.
- A $15,000 sign-on bonus and a $40,000 retention bonus after three years of service are offered at all locations.
Job Summary:
The Pilot ensures all aircraft operations comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Guardian Flight EMS Operations Manual, and all applicable state and local regulations. Responsibilities include:
- Operating aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to the Fixed Wing Flight Manual.
- Monitoring weather forecasts and current conditions.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight checks, logging any discrepancies in the engineering log and notifying maintenance personnel.
- Reporting for duty rested and prepared, maintaining current knowledge of weather conditions.
Qualifications (Line Pilot) PC-12:
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 pilot-in-command (PIC) hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (at least 50 actual)
Education and Credentials (PC-12):
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-ASEL) certificate required.
- Willingness and ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate within 5 years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications (Line Pilot) KING AIR C90/B200:
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 pilot-in-command (PIC) hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 500 multi-engine hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (at least 50 actual)
Education and Credentials (KING AIR C90/B200):
- Commercial Airplane Multi Engine Land (C-AMEL) certificate required.
- Willingness and ability to obtain an ATP certificate within 5 years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications (Pilot-in-Command) LEAR 45:
- 4,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 turbine hours
- 500 crew environment hours
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) flight experience preferred
Education and Credentials (LEAR 45):
- Airline Transport Pilot - Multi Engine (ATP-ME) certificate required.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate (valid for 6 months)
- Valid and unexpired driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
