Global Medical Response (GMR), an authorized provider of the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program, offers active-duty U.S. military service members a unique opportunity to gain valuable civilian aviation experience. This 90-day fellowship provides structured training, internship, and on-the-job experience within the dynamic medical response industry. Participants will retain their military pay and benefits throughout the program and will not receive compensation from GMR.
This SkillBridge program integrates active-duty military personnel into GMR operations during the final six months of their obligated service. Program start dates are coordinated with company schedules and participant availability. Participation is contingent upon receiving signed approval from the service member's unit commander (O-4 or above) and understanding that participation may be terminated at any time due to mission requirements.
Successful completion of the SkillBridge program does not guarantee employment with GMR. However, successful participants may be considered for open positions. A newly hired GMR/Guardian Flight pilot can expect:
