Garmin International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Aviation Pilot Instructor to join its dynamic Aviation Training Department in Olathe, Kansas. A Passion for Aviation Education:
The Senior Aviation Pilot Instructor will play a pivotal role in shaping the knowledge and skills of Garmin's customers and partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop engaging and informative training materials, including classroom instruction, seminars, webinars, and e-learning modules, ensuring alignment with Garmin's high standards and industry best practices.
- Instructional Excellence: Deliver expert instruction on Garmin's cutting-edge avionics products and services to a diverse clientele, including Garmin dealers, OEMs, fleet operators, pilots, and internal stakeholders.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain an in-depth understanding of Garmin's avionics suite, demonstrating expert operational proficiency and remaining current on industry trends and regulations.
- Technical Support and Customer Service: Provide exceptional technical support and customer service to Garmin's valued clientele, resolving inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, sales and marketing professionals, and product managers to identify training needs, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs.
Qualifications for Success:
The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of technical expertise, instructional prowess, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Key qualifications include:
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a related field combined with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (or military equivalent) is mandatory.
- Customer-Centric Approach: A demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, exceeding expectations, and building strong relationships.
- Instructional Skills: Proven ability to deliver clear, concise, and engaging instruction to diverse audiences, leveraging various training methodologies and adapting to different learning styles.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Garmin avionics products and a strong understanding of aviation industry regulations and best practices.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument rating
- Experience developing interactive, multimedia training materials
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with engineering documents (e.g., install manuals, wiring diagrams)
- Experience with multiple Garmin avionics platforms
- A&P License
- Knowledge of competitive avionics
- Practical experience in post-secondary or adult education
- Experience in a training department or with a training provider
