Position: First Officer
Job Summary
Frontier Airlines is seeking highly skilled and dedicated aviation professionals for the pivotal position of First Officer. The First Officer plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely flight operations, upholding the highest standards of customer service and strict adherence to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe and timely execution of flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Operates the aircraft during designated periods of duty unless officially relieved by Company authority. This includes operations during weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections to confirm the airworthiness of assigned aircraft.
- Familiarizes oneself with prevailing and forecast departure, arrival, and, if applicable, alternate station weather conditions prior to each flight.
- Verifies proper flight planning and fueling to ensure the safe conduct of the flight.
- Assists with and oversees the efficient handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points, maintaining an acute awareness of on-time departure.
- Promptly notifies crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
- Reviews the load manifest for each flight and verifies the passenger count prior to every departure.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates for the First Officer position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- 1,500 hours total flight time (2,500 hours preferred)
- 750 hours multi-engine fixed wing flight time
- 500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) time
- 500 hours jet/turboprop flight time
- Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit
- Possession of a valid U.S. Passport with machine-readable print, or a valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States, and the ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to travel to and from all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Willingness and ability to relocate.
- Availability and willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including “red-eye” flights.
- Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and comprehensive background checks.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment, including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), is preferred.
- Adherence to company health and safety policies, which may include vaccination requirements for new hires, as permitted by law.
