Job Summary
The First Officer is a critical member of the flight crew, responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining safe and timely flight operations in strict adherence to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe and timely execution of flight operations according to all Company policies and FARs.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the aircraft during the designated duty period, including weekend, holiday, and night operations, unless officially relieved by Company authority.
- Verifies the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft through thorough pre- and post-flight inspections.
- Acquires familiarity with existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and alternate stations before each flight.
- Ensures flights are properly planned and fueled for safe conduct.
- Assists with and supervises the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points, maintaining awareness of on-time departures.
- Promptly informs crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather, or other operational factors impacting the flight.
- Reviews the flight's load manifest and verifies passenger count prior to each departure.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Total flight time: Minimum 1,500 hours (2,500 hours preferred).
- Multi-engine fixed-wing time: Minimum 750 hours.
- Pilot in Command (PIC) time: Minimum 500 hours.
- Jet/Turboprop time: Minimum 500 hours.
- Holds a current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Possesses an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Holds an FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
- Possesses a valid US Passport with machine-readable print and the ability to travel internationally, or a valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States.
- Capable of traveling to and from all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including “red eyes.”
- Ability and desire to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment, including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), is preferred.
- Compliance with the company’s COVID-19 vaccination policy, which requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated by their first day of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
