Job Summary
The First Officer is a crucial member of the flight crew, responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safe and timely execution of flight operations. This role strictly adheres to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the First Officer include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the safe and timely completion of all flight operations in strict accordance with Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Taking responsibility for the operation of the aircraft during the designated duty period, including weekend, holiday, and night operations, unless properly relieved by Company authority.
- Confirming the airworthy condition of the assigned aircraft through thorough completion of appropriate pre and post-flight inspections.
- Becoming familiar with existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and any applicable alternate stations prior to each flight.
- Ensuring that each flight is meticulously planned and fueled to allow for safe execution.
- Assisting with and ensuring the proper handling of the aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points, while maintaining awareness of on-time departures.
- Promptly notifying the crew and passengers of potential turbulence, adverse weather conditions or any other operational factors that may affect the flight.
- Reviewing the load manifest for each flight and verifying the passenger count prior to departure.
Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 1,500 hours total flight time (2,500 hours preferred)
- 750 hours multi-engine fixed wing flight time
- 500 hours pilot in command (PIC)
- 500 hours jet or turboprop time
- Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit
- Possession of a valid US Passport with machine-readable print and the ability to travel freely in and out of the United States, or a valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel to and from all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Ability and willingness to relocate as required.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, holidays and overnight trips, including "red eyes."
- Ability and desire to maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS) is preferred.
- Compliance with the company’s COVID policies which includes a requirement that all new hires are fully vaccinated by their first day of employment, to the degree permitted by law.

- Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to react positively and effectively in challenging situations.

- Capable of adjusting to varied flying schedules, including both day and night operations.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
The role involves operating standard office equipment, including PCs, copiers, fax machines, and printers, as well as utilizing modern flight tools such as iPads, Electronic Tablets, Aircraft, Aircraft Controls, Company manuals, Navigation charts, and flashlights. The position requires moderate physical activity, involving occasional handling of objects up to 50 pounds and frequent handling of objects up to 20 pounds.
