The First Officer plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring the safe and timely execution of flight operations. This position requires strict adherence to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safe and timely completion of all flight operations in strict accordance with Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the aircraft during the assigned period of duty, which includes operating during weekends, holidays, and night hours, unless relieved by Company authority.
- Confirms the airworthy condition of the assigned aircraft through thorough completion of appropriate pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
- Acquires comprehensive familiarity with existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and alternate stations prior to each flight.
- Ensures that each flight is meticulously planned and adequately fueled to facilitate safe execution.
- Assists with and ensures the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal locations, maintaining a constant awareness of on-time departure status.
- Provides timely notification to the crew and passengers regarding anticipated turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or any other operational factors that may affect the flight.
- Reviews the flight's load manifest and verifies the passenger count prior to each departure.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time is required; 2,500 hours is preferred.
- Must possess 750 hours of multi-engine fixed wing flight time.
- Requires 500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 500 hours of jet or turboprop flight time is necessary.
- Holds a current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Possesses an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Holds an FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
- Must possess a valid US Passport with machine-readable print and the ability to travel freely in and out of the United States, or a valid foreign passport with appropriate authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be capable of traveling to and from all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Ability to relocate as required.
- Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule including weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including "red eyes."
- Maintains a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment, including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), is preferred.
- Compliance with the company’s COVID policies, including a requirement for new hires to be fully vaccinated by their first day of employment, to the degree permitted by law.

Working Conditions and Equipment:
The role involves operating standard office equipment such as PCs, copiers, fax machines, and printers, in addition to utilizing an iPad or Electronic Tablet for flight operations. Primary duties are performed in the aircraft, involving the use of Aircraft Controls, Company manuals, Navigation charts, and a flashlight.
