First Officer Job Description
Role Overview
The First Officer serves as the 'Second in Command' and holds primary responsibility for assisting the Captain in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight, encompassing both normal and non-normal situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides essential input and continuous assistance to the Captain, contributing to safe and efficient flight operations.
- Acts as a professional brand ambassador for the airline while on duty, upholding the highest standards of personal discipline, conduct, and appearance.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to the duty of care and welfare of fellow crew members and passengers.
- Supports the Captain in overseeing critical pre-flight procedures, including appropriate fueling, baggage/cargo loading, and comprehensive aircraft servicing.
- Ensures meticulous execution of all duties as specified in the procedures and instructions detailed within the airline's Operations Manuals.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is required.
- For Non-Type Rated Applicants: Must possess a minimum of 2,500 total flying hours, including at least 1,500 MPA hours and 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft with an operating weight exceeding 10 tonnes. Preference will be given to candidates with Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- For Type Rated Applicants: Requires a B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type rating endorsed within the last 24 months, with at least 1,500 MPA flying hours and a minimum of 500 hours on the B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) aircraft type.

Information Security Responsibility (ISR)
The First Officer is required to meticulously read and comply with the Company's ISR policies. They must diligently report any identified weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completion of all mandated ISR awareness sessions and adherence to associated guidelines in daily operations are essential.
