Ascend Airways is initiating operations under a newly acquired UK Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), establishing its inaugural operational base at London Gatwick (LGW) in early 2024. Building on the legacy of Synergy Aviation and supported by Avia Solutions Group—the world's largest ACMI provider with over 180 aircraft—Ascend Airways is set to operate a dedicated fleet of Boeing 737 NG and MAX aircraft in the critical ACMI market.

The company is currently seeking experienced and highly professional candidates for the position of B737 Type Rated First Officer. These crucial roles demand individuals who can demonstrate excellent aircraft handling ability, robust technical knowledge, and strong leadership potential. Operational & Lifestyle Considerations

The position is permanently based at London Gatwick. The flying pattern is characterized by busy summer months followed by quieter winter rosters, offering pilots the flexibility to utilize additional time off during the winter season to suit their personal lifestyle. While the role involves routine night-stopping, occasional longer periods away from base (up to two weeks) are anticipated exclusively during the winter season.

• The successful candidate must maintain a primary home address within 90 minutes travelling time of London Gatwick Airport.
• A flexible approach towards working hours and rostered duties is essential.

Required Professional Experience and Attributes

The ideal candidate must exhibit a commitment to success and growth, coupled with a deep passion for the aviation industry.

• Possession of a UK CAA ATPL(A) or (f)ATPL(A).
• Current Boeing 737 type rating, or a rating expired by no more than two years.
• A verified minimum of 500 hours flown on Boeing 737 aircraft.
• Demonstrated capacity to be high-performing and professional in all operational aspects.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must meet the following general prerequisites to be considered for the role:

• A current UK / EASA Class 1 medical certificate, without restrictions (other than those relating to spectacles or contact lenses).
• The unrestricted right to live and work permanently in the United Kingdom.
• Demonstration of a high level of proficiency in the English language (ICAO Level 6 required).
• Compliance with current legislation regarding age limits (up to 65 years).
