The Opportunity

Ascend Airways is actively seeking highly qualified individuals for the position of Type Rated B737 Senior First Officer to join its growing team at London Gatwick, UK. This is a full-time role offering a competitive basic annual salary of £75,000. Successful candidates will be available to commence employment on 27th October 2025 or 24th November 2025.

Key Requirements

Prospective candidates must fulfill the following essential criteria:

  • Possess an unrestricted legal right to live and work permanently in the United Kingdom.
  • Hold a valid UK CAA ATPL(A) or (f)ATPL(A) with a current Boeing 737 type rating, or one that has expired by no more than two years.
  • Maintain a valid UK/EASA Class One medical certificate without restrictions (other than for spectacles/contact lenses).
  • Be prepared to establish and maintain a primary residential address within a 90-minute commuting distance of London Gatwick Airport.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 1,500 total flying hours, inclusive of one of the following specific flight experiences:
    • 500 hours on Boeing 737 aircraft; OR
    • 1,500 hours on multi-engine jet aircraft with a maximum take-off weight exceeding 60 tonnes; OR
    • 1,000 hours as Captain in any multi-pilot Commercial Air Transport operation.

Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits

  • Basic Annual Salary: £75,000 gross.
  • Pension Contribution: A generous 4.5% contribution based on the basic salary.
  • Flight Pay: £13.30 per block hour.
  • Per diems provided for duties performed away from base.
  • Annual Leave: 42 days per year, with a provision for a maximum of eight days' leave between 1st June and 15th September to ensure operational continuity.
  • Rostering Benefits: A guaranteed minimum of 10 days off per month, augmented by three dedicated 'golden days' annually, ensuring rostered days off at the home base.

    • Paid parking at the operational base.
    • Coverage for medical renewal costs.
    • Comprehensive loss of license insurance.
