The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This role ensures all training is conducted in strict accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles, contributing to the professional development and success of clients.
The demands of this role involve physical activity. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling may also be required. The position necessitates the physical range of body motion to perform specific tasks, including reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder controls with both feet; reaching and manipulating controls within a simulator from the instructor's chair; entering and exiting simulators via provided ramps; moving between instructional stations in a classroom; and exiting a simulator in a severely pitched attitude if necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role involves occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment often involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. Employees may occasionally work in elevated locations and outside weather conditions, with potential exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, temperature extremes, electrical shock, radiation risk, and vibration.
