Position Summary:
The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This instruction must be provided in strict accordance with applicable aviation regulations and adherence to FlightSafety Training principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts ground and simulator training sessions for pilots enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develops and prepares comprehensive training materials designed to support effective training delivery, tailored to meet client needs and align with the specified curriculum.
- Evaluates and accurately measures trainee progress throughout the training program. Provides recommendations for qualification or identifies the need for additional training.
- Ensures the meticulous completion of accurate training records for each client, contributing directly to their success in achieving desired objectives.
- Proactively identifies potential client training issues and seeks appropriate assistance or guidance before proceeding with training execution.
- Diligently maintains all required Instructor qualifications in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- No minimum educational requirement is specified for this position.
Experience:
- Must be capable and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- Candidates without an ATP must satisfy the requirements stipulated in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64, specifically without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Requires a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred Experience: Prior training experience under FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or within military aviation environments is highly desirable.
- Preferred Experience: A total flight time of 2,500 hours is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The duties of this role necessitate the employee's ability to regularly use hands for tasks requiring manual dexterity, reach with arms, and engage in conversation or listening. Occasional requirements may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, or smelling.
Specific physical range of motion is required, including reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder/anti-torque controls with both feet, as well as manipulating numerous controls within a simulator device from the instructor's chair. The ability to safely enter and exit the simulator via provided ramps and move between the instructor station, screen, and podium in a classroom setting is necessary. Emergency procedures may require exiting a malfunctioned simulator from a severely pitched attitude. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The role involves regularly lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and frequently lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. The employee may occasionally work in elevated or precarious locations and is subject to outside weather conditions. The role may involve occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures (cold/heat), and risks associated with electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
