FlightSafety International is seeking a qualified Flight Instructor to join its professional team. The Flight Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This position requires strict adherence to aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles, ensuring the highest standards of safety and effectiveness in all training activities.
The duties of this role frequently require the employee to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally or aurally. Occasional requirements may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and tasting or smelling.
Specific physical requirements include possessing a full range of body motion to comfortably and safely reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque pedals with both feet. The ability to reach and manipulate numerous controls within the simulator device from the instructor’s chair is necessary. Entering and exiting the simulator via the provided ramp, and moving between the instructor station, screen, and podium during classroom instruction is required. The role also demands the physical capability to exit a malfunctioning simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
Vision abilities essential for this position encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
While primarily working in a controlled environment, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure may occur in high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, and risks associated with electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
