Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. The Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials aligned with the applicable curriculum to effectively meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or supplementary training.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, contributing to their achievement of objectives.
- Identify and address client training issues, seeking assistance proactively.
- Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Participation in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program is mandatory.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements outlined in:
- 14 CFR part 61.153
- 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Preferred: FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
- No minimum education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
- Foundational facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback for professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role involves regular use of hands for various tasks, including manipulating objects, tools, and controls, as well as reaching, talking, and hearing. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. Specific physical requirements include the ability to reach and manipulate rudder controls, anti-torque pedals, and simulator controls, as well as the ability to enter and exit the simulator device. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to high places, outside weather conditions, and occasional exposure to various environmental factors.
