Flight Instructor

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a skilled Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. As a Flight Instructor, the individual will provide instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. FlightSafety International is a leading supplier of flight simulators, visual systems, and displays to commercial, government, and military organizations, providing training to pilots, technicians, and other aviation professionals across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
  • Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
  • Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend individuals for qualification or additional training.
  • Complete accurate training records specific to each client, aiding their success in achieving the requested objective(s).
  • Identify client training issues and seek assistance prior to execution.
  • Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
  • Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
  • In the absence of an ATP certificate, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
  • A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required.
  • Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
  • Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
  • Understanding of common aviation regulations.
  • Effective class management and teaching abilities.
  • Possession of first-level facilitation skills.
  • Excellent first-level customer service skills.
  • Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role requires regular use of hands for various tasks, including reaching and manipulating controls. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use their senses of taste and smell. The role involves physical demands, including exerting pressure and manipulating rudder controls, reaching and manipulating simulator controls, and the ability to enter and exit the simulator. Vision abilities, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment, are essential. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves frequent interaction with moving mechanical parts, potential work in high places and varying weather conditions, and occasional exposure to various environmental factors.
