Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. The Flight Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending candidates for qualification or additional training as needed.
- Maintain accurate training records specific to each client, supporting their success in achieving desired objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance prior to execution.
- Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements outlined in: 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required.
- Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage classes and teach.
- Possession of first-level facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated first-level customer service skills.
- Capacity to be coachable and receptive to feedback for professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The role may involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and stooping. Must possess physical range of motion to operate simulator controls, enter/exit the simulator, and instruct in the classroom. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to various environmental conditions.
