Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, a premier global aviation training company, seeks a highly qualified Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator instruction. The successful candidate will adhere to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles, contributing to the training of pilots and other aviation professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that align with the applicable curriculum and meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress and make recommendations for qualification or additional training.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, supporting their achievement of objectives.
- Proactively identify client training issues and seek assistance as needed.
- Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possess an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state license.
- If lacking an ATP, must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Hold a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred: Experience with FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training programs.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.

- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Possesses a strong understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Exhibits the ability to effectively manage classes and deliver engaging instruction.
- Demonstrates first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Maintains a commitment to continuous improvement, being coachable, and receptive to feedback.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee must be able to perform the following physical tasks:
- Utilize hands for manipulating controls, reaching, and communicating.
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls with both feet.
- Manipulate simulator controls from the instructor’s chair.
- Enter and exit simulator via provided ramp.
- Move within the classroom while instructing.
- Exit a malfunctioning simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
- Possess required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Work near moving mechanical parts; may work in high and precarious places, in various weather conditions, and may be exposed to fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
