Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking a dedicated Instructor Pilot to join its esteemed team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to aviation excellence by shaping the skills and confidence of pilots through advanced training and cutting-edge technology. The Instructor Pilot will play a crucial part in CAE's legacy of flight training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with regulatory requirements, CAE curriculum, and customer expectations.
  • Conduct professional, comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for client training and internal course development.
  • Perform administrative duties including completing training records, maintaining instructional qualifications, and recommending remedial training.
  • Provide instruction across one or more aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications.
  • Qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman after approximately 1.5+ years of service, subject to business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Ability to move into different positions, including confined spaces.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).
  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted ATP certificate or completion of ATP Written.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
  • Participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unrestricted PIC Type Rating.
  • FAR Part 135 experience and 3,000+ total flight hours.
  • Experience flying business aircraft.
  • Prior instructional or training experience.
  • Ability to tailor training content to a diverse customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accurate recordkeeping in accordance with CAE and FAA standards.
  • Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Professional character with strong verbal and written communication skills.
