Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world's premier aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. The Flight Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials aligned with the curriculum to meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or further training.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, supporting their successful achievement of objectives.
- Identify and address client training issues proactively.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential.
- Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
- Preferred experience includes a minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Solid understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
- Possession of first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support continuous development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires the regular use of hands for various tasks, including reaching, handling, and feeling objects, tools, or controls. The employee must also be able to talk and hear. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and the ability to taste or smell. Specific physical requirements include the range of body motion to manipulate rudder controls, reach various controls within the simulator, and move between the instructor station and podium. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to high places, outside weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, radiation risks, and vibration.
