Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, a global leader in professional aviation training and simulation, seeks a dedicated and skilled Flight Instructor. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety's training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training for clients participating in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare high-quality training materials that support training delivery, ensuring alignment with client needs and curriculum requirements.
- Evaluate and accurately measure trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or additional training as necessary.
- Maintain detailed and precise training records for each client, contributing to their successful achievement of objectives.
- Proactively identify client training challenges and seek assistance before execution.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in strict accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior rotorcraft experience is mandatory.
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an ICAO member state equivalent.
- If lacking an ATP, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Thorough understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage classes and deliver effective instruction.
- Demonstrated first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support continuous professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to use hands to operate equipment, reach, and communicate effectively. The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and possess the ability to taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the physical range of motion to manipulate flight controls within the simulator. Must also be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and 25 pounds frequently. The work environment includes working near mechanical parts, occasionally in high and precarious places and in variable weather conditions, with potential exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
