About the Role
FlightSafety International, a global leader in aviation training, is seeking a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) to provide crucial support for various training courses. This role involves acting as a qualified SIC for internal and external customer pilots, ensuring the smooth execution of recurrent, initial, and generic training programs within an established curriculum. The position is based at FlightSafety International's facilities.
Responsibilities

Act as a competent Second-in-Command (SIC) for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who are without a flying partner.

Perform SIC duties without undertaking instructional tasks.

Maintain SIC pilot qualification in accordance with assigned program requirements.

Uphold SIC qualification in adherence to FlightSafety International’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and procedures.

Ensure all required certificates, ratings, and designations for SIC duties are current.

Serve as SIC in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as needed.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.

Minimum of 450 flight hours.

Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.

Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure environments.

A second language may be required at specific Learning Centers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; ability to reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear.

May require standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and tasting or smelling.

Must possess the physical range of motion to operate rudder controls with feet, manipulate simulator controls, enter/exit simulator via ramp, and exit a malfunctioning simulator.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Frequent work near moving mechanical parts; occasional work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.

Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.

Work environment noise level is usually moderate.
