Canadian North is seeking a First Officer for its ATR 42 operations, based in Ottawa, ON, and Yellowknife, NT. This full-time, on-site position involves connecting people and delivering essential goods to northern communities while upholding the highest safety standards.
About the Role
The First Officer, working alongside the Captain, is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and the well-being of all individuals on board. This role is integral to Canadian North's mission of supporting 25 northern communities through passenger and cargo services across the Canadian Arctic. The First Officer must adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the safety policy, actively identifying and communicating hazards and risks for continuous improvement. Successful completion of a Transport Canada Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC) is required.
Requirements

High School Diploma.

Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).

Completion of either a valid IATRA or SARON and SAMRA exams.

Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating.

Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.

Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Current valid passport or Canadian Permanent Resident Card if not a Canadian passport holder.

All required visas or travel documents allowing unrestricted travel.

Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
Qualifications

No previous experience required.

750 hours total flight time, or 250 hours total flight time for graduates of a recognized aviation degree/diploma program.

Ability to communicate in Inuktut is a definite asset.
