Canadian North is seeking a First Officer for its ATR 42 aircraft operations based in Ottawa, ON, and Yellowknife, NT. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to connect remote northern communities, deliver essential goods, and be part of a purpose-driven organization.
About the Role
The First Officer (second-in-command) is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and the safety of all persons on board during flight, in accordance with Canadian North Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safety policies. This role involves flying a diverse network of scheduled passenger and cargo flights throughout the Canadian Arctic, as well as participating in charter operations. Ottawa-based ATR pilots will typically support operations in Iqaluit with extended duty pairings.

No previous experience required

750 hours total flight time, or 250 hours total flight time for graduates of a recognized aviation degree/diploma program

Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

Completion of either a valid IATRA or SARON and SAMRA exams

Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating

Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Current valid passport or Canadian Permanent Resident Card

All required visas or travel documents allowing unrestricted travel

Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card
