Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly qualified Pilot in Command for a Learjet 45XR based in Nashville, TN. As a subsidiary of NetJets, EJM is part of the world's largest private aviation infrastructure, offering unrivaled resources and operational stability. This position is integral to a 3-pilot account operating approximately 400-450 hours annually under EJM's Part 135 certificate. This is not a commutable position; candidates must reside in or relocate to the Nashville area.
The Pilot in Command is ultimately responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. They adhere to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to clients.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the safe operation of all flights, including compliant crewing and trip assignments. The Pilot in Command will complete flight planning, performance, and weight and balance calculations, utilizing Threats, Plans, and Considerations briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks. Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is mandatory, alongside coordination with company personnel, acting as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator. The position requires completing all pre-flight tasks, monitoring ground servicing items, conducting passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, and utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles for clear and timely communication.
Furthermore, the Pilot in Command provides quality service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying and resolving service deviations while collaborating with crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent and exceptional service experience. They will also maintain regulatory and company-required training, ensure recency of experience, comply with the company's Safety Management System (SMS), and report safety or non-compliance concerns appropriately.
Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in Part 135 operations and preferably hold an FAA Type Rating for the Learjet 45XR. Candidates must also be able to perform the essential functions of the position. Minimum time requirements include 3500 hours total flight time, 1500 hours Multi Engine Land (MEL), 2000 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours PIC MEL, 300 hours instrument, and 500 hours in a jet aircraft.
