Position Summary
Executive Jet Management seeks highly qualified candidates for a long-term account operating a Challenger 604 aircraft equipped with the Fusion Upgrade. Based at Teterboro, NJ (KTEB), this is a dedicated Part 91 flight operation supported by a three-pilot crew and a full-time Maintenance Technician. The account is anticipated to log approximately 400 flight hours annually. This position offers an exceptional quality of life with domestic-only flights, a three-pilot rotation, and scheduled monthly days off. The account also benefits from a dedicated Key Account Manager serving as the primary liaison for the owner. A competitive total compensation package ranging from $300,000 to $400,000 is offered for candidates who are type-rated, possess extensive Challenger aircraft experience, and demonstrate leadership capabilities.
The Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) serves as a peer leader within the designated flight department. Key focus areas include effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and diligent completion of flight department administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flying schedule while adhering to all standard PIC responsibilities and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Pilot in Command is responsible for driving Flight Department Success, ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight, delivering an Exceptional Service Experience, and maintaining Proficiency and Compliance.
Leading Flight Department Success:
- Manages crucial client relationships, balancing client needs with company standards. Proactively communicates to address current or potential issues and opportunities.
- Collaborates closely with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance events and the completion of regular tasks such as database updates, audits, and checklist management.
- Completes duties expected by the aircraft owner/account, including invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew schedule management in accordance with defined expectations.
- Supports and motivates flight department crew members, ensuring they understand tasks and achieve departmental goals while upholding the EJM brand. Reports concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
- Handles flight department administration, including office and aircraft supplies, subscriptions, and crew scheduling, including communication with crew members.
Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Verifies crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator according to company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the maintenance status to ensure mission capability. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitors and ensures completion of all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducts passenger briefings according to company policy and regulation, delivering the highest level of customer service and accommodating special needs of passengers.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience. Resolves conflict and challenges effectively.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
- Ensures all crew members remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Ensures all crew members comply with company policies and that appropriate audits are in place.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- Possesses FAA Type rating in applicable fleet (Challenger 604).
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
