Position Summary
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Second in Command (SIC) for a Challenger 350 aircraft. This prestigious account is based in Miami, FL (KOPF). The SIC operates within a dedicated two-pilot crew structure, which is further supported by a skilled Maintenance Technician, conducting flight assignments under rigorous Part 135 operations.
The Second in Command is principally responsible for the welfare of all passengers, encompassing all aspects of cabin safety and personalized service. The successful candidate must maintain proficiency in both Abnormal and Emergency procedures, alongside expert knowledge of all cabin systems and operations. The SIC is accountable to the Chief Pilot for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flight duties and reports directly to the assigned Pilot in Command (PIC) for the performance of all duties specific to scheduled trips.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
Performs all pilot duties in strict accordance with the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations, Operations Specifications, specific Flight Manuals, and all other pertinent operational instructions.
Ensures compliance with the company’s goals for safety, security, and quality through adherence to the Safety Management System (SMS) program. The SIC is required to report any safety, security, or quality recommendations or observations of non-compliance via the appropriate internal process.
Manages essential post-flight aircraft interior tasks, including, but not limited to, the removal of all debris from the cockpit area and the organized removal of ice, coffee, and catering items from the aircraft cabin.
Identifies and reports any observed interior equipment discrepancies directly to the Pilot in Command (PIC) for resolution.
Coordinates and obtains necessary cabin items, including catering requirements for flight segments, as directed by the Flight Operations Center.
Upholds the highest standard of personalized customer service at all times during all flight and ground operations.
Coordinates all work schedules and schedule changes effectively with the Chief Pilot.
Accurately logs and reports all flight and duty times, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reports all external commercial flying performed outside of the Company to the Flight Operations Center for mandatory inclusion in the official Flight and Duty Time Records.
Maintains and provides a valid copy of the required First Class Medical Certificate to the Flight Operations Training Department by the twentieth (20th) day of the month when renewal is due.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications (KSAOs)
The ideal candidate will possess 2–4 years of relevant aviation experience. Preference will be extended to local candidates holding a CL-30 type rating and exhibiting substantial experience in similarly sized aircraft.

Must maintain a valid First Class Medical Certificate.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain an FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type (Challenger 350).
Flight Time Minimums
Total flight time: 2,500 hours
Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
Instrument: 150 hours
Jet: 250 hours
Turbine Engine: 100 hours
Time in Type (Challenger 350): 50 hours (preferred)
