Role Overview
Thompson Machinery seeks a professional and experienced Pilot with exceptional safety consciousness and proficiency. This position requires adaptability to fluctuating flight schedules and extended travel periods, including weekends and holidays. The Flight Department operates a Lear 75 and a Challenger 3500 under 14 CFR Part 91 regulations. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC), ensuring safe and efficient flight operations for domestic and international assignments under 14 CFR Part 91.
- Manage flight planning and coordinate schedule adjustments, maintaining effective communication with passengers.
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience, including greeting passengers, assisting with luggage, conducting pre-flight briefings, and responding to passenger needs.
- Assume responsibility as the Flight Department Safety Manager, overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of the Safety Management System (SMS).
Qualifications and Experience
Thompson Machinery values diverse backgrounds and encourages unique contributions. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land Certificate; ATP certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2,500 total flight hours.
- Minimum of 1,500 multi-engine flight hours.
- Minimum of 500 turbojet flight hours.
- Experience with Lear 45 or Lear 75 aircraft is preferred.
- Experience with Challenger 350 or Challenger 3500 aircraft is preferred.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid passport.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; an aviation-related degree is preferred.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) is preferred.
- Must reside within 1.5 hours of KBNA or be willing to relocate.
- Flexibility to accommodate fluctuating flight schedules and extended travel periods, including weekends and holidays.
