Pilot in Command – Challenger 300 – Santa Ana, CA
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Challenger 300 based in Santa Ana, CA. This Part 91 operation, supporting a two-pilot crew and a dedicated maintenance technician, anticipates less than 225 flight hours annually within the contiguous United States. This position requires residency in, or relocation to, the Santa Ana area.
Purpose of the Position:
The PIC holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This role demands adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Safe Operation of Flight:
- Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory requirements for crewing and trip assignments.
- Conducts thorough flight planning, encompassing performance calculations, weight and balance.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with company personnel.
- Serves as the Grounds and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Meticulously completes all pre-flight checks, including aircraft maintenance status verification, documenting any discrepancies according to SOPs.
- Monitors and ensures adherence to SOPs for all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen).
- Delivers comprehensive passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations, catering to the specific needs of all passengers, including those with physical limitations.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all flight phases.
Exceptional Service Delivery:
- Proactively provides high-quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience and effectively resolving service deviations.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent and superior service experience, resolving conflicts professionally.
Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains adherence to all regulatory and company-required training and recency requirements.
- Actively participates in the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, promptly reporting safety concerns or non-compliance issues through designated channels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Significant experience in corporate/business aviation.
- Residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Santa Ana area.
- FAA Type rating in the CL300 series (strongly preferred).
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Compensation:
$150,000 - $200,000
