The Captain's Crucial Role

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Prospective Freighter Captains are required to meet specific flight hour and aircraft type experience criteria, in addition to general eligibility requirements. Applicants must demonstrate:
Criteria A:
- A minimum of 7,000 total flying hours.
- A minimum of 2,500 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft, with 2,000 of these hours accumulated on any Boeing wide-body aircraft exceeding 140 tons.
- A minimum of 1,500 PIC hours on any Boeing wide-body aircraft.
Criteria B:
- A minimum of 7,000 total flying hours.
- A minimum of 3,000 PIC hours on jet multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft, with 2,500 of these hours as commander on Boeing wide-body aircraft exceeding 140 tons.
General Eligibility:
- Recent flight experience on any Boeing wide-body aircraft within the last 12 months.
- A valid aircraft type rating, with a minimum of 2 months remaining validity at the date of joining.
- An unrestricted and current Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) issued by an ICAO member state.
- An unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Candidates must not have reached the age of 59 on the intended date of joining.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, demonstrating ICAO Level 4 proficiency or higher.
