The Role: Aviation Captain

As a Captain with Etihad Airways, the incumbent holds the ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient operation of every flight. The Captain is entrusted with the technical command of the aircraft, the leadership of the entire flight crew, and the professional responsibility to consistently uphold Etihad's exceptionally high standards of operation and guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the absolute safety and security of all crew, passengers, cargo, and the aircraft throughout the operational cycle.
• Exercising full command of the aircraft, from taxi-out procedures to the final engine shutdown.
• Leading and mentoring the flight and cabin crew, demonstrating robust decision-making capabilities and effective Crew Resource Management (CRM).
• Operating the aircraft with maximum efficiency and environmental responsibility, in strict adherence to company fuel and sustainability policies.
• Delivering consistent On-Time Performance (OTP) to meet Etihad’s core commitment to reliability and superior guest satisfaction.

Remuneration and Benefits:

The annual package is highly competitive and tax-free, including basic salary, flying pay, housing allowance, and layover and meal allowances. Captains have the potential to earn up to AED 637,304 (approximately USD 171,589) per year, based on 75 flying hours per month. The annual salary incorporates performance-based annual increments, complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits:

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this prestigious Captain position, candidates must satisfy the following essential criteria:

• A minimum of 7,000 hours total documented flying time.
• A minimum of 2,500 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft. (1)
• A minimum of 1,500 PIC hours on the Applicable Aircraft type.
• The required Type Rating on the Applicable Aircraft must remain valid for a minimum of two (2) months at the designated time of joining.
• Possession of an unrestricted and current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
• The candidate must have actively flown the Applicable Aircraft within the last 12 months.
• Possession of an unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate.
• The candidate must not have attained 59 years of age on the official day of joining Etihad Airways.
• Demonstrated English Language Fluency (written and verbal) equivalent to ICAO Level 4 or higher.
• In cases where flying hours have been accumulated on flights utilizing inflight relief, 75% of those total hours will be counted towards the specified minimum requirements.
