Accelerated Command Captain Pilot - Flight Operations

This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are critical components of the position for Accelerated Captain Category 1.

B. General

This is a position currently with a minimum guarantee of seventy (70) hours per month that will report to the Chief Pilot. The successful candidate will be type rated on multi-engine aircraft, preference will be given to those typed on the B-767/757 or the B-777 and possess a first-class medical certificate. The successful individual must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all relevant Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s). Accelerated Captains C1 is designed for pilots who meets the requirements of 121.436 but lack transport category experience will be trained completely as a Captain under the EAL FOTM. The following guidelines cannot be reduced or changed while in the program. The category 1 applicant will remain in this position until flying 500 hrs. of company flight time after training is completed or have a company dispensation granted.

C. Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform as Second in Command in the transport of passengers, mail, freight, or for other commercial purposes.
  • Comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies on scheduled flights and routes to ensure safety of flight.
  • Always conduct business in a professional manner and demeanor.
  • Operate Company aircraft adhering to established Qualification Standards and all Flight Manual operating procedures and policies.
  • Communicate with all required agencies and personnel while adhering to Company Communication Practices.
  • Must have knowledge commensurate with holder of airline transport pilot certificate and have knowledge of all aspects of applicable FARs and AIM.

D. Qualifications

Minimum of 7000 hours total flying time – only time in the operating seat of a turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft can be counted; simulator time will not be accepted.

Minimum of 2000 hours PIC time on multi-crew, multi-engine, commercial aircraft.

  • 1,000 flight hours previous experience in Part 121 operations.
  • A valid FAA ATP
  • A valid FAA Class One Medical
  • A Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Passport allowing travel worldwide.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • No failures in any training events

  • Ability to travel out of state if needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
