HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

Delta Professional Services (DPS) ia a premier instruction services company serving as a strategic partner for a growing number of U.S. – based air carriers including our parent company Delta Air Lines. The Flight Training Procedures Instructor (FTPI) is a part time position which conducts pilot qualification, re-qualification, and continuing qualification training events in accordance with applicable company policy and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Training assignments include conducting classroom instruction, Flight Training Device (FTD) and Procedures Trainer (PT) training events. Instruction subjects include, but are not limited to, aircraft systems, normal and non-normal procedures, automation (FMS, autoflight) procedures, supplementary procedures, threat and error management, operations specifications, aircraft performance, and emergency equipment. Other job responsibilities may include program curriculum maintenance. This position will report to the client specific Program Manager at Delta Professional Services (DPS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Aircraft Multiengine Land Class
  • Experience as a pilot at a 14 CFR Part 121 Certified Air Carrier
  • Previous experience as a ground school or flight simulator instructor at a 14 CFR Part 121/135 Air Carrier or 141/142 Flight School

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must understand the role and responsibilities of an airline pilot including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Pilot in Command and Second in Command Duties, roles and responsibilities
    • Expectations for professionalism, leadership, decision making, Crew Resource and Threat and Error Management
    • Client company policies, procedures and available resources
    • Be an excellent communicator and listener.
  • Must be able to present organized instruction and lead substantive, interactive discussions; including but not limited to:
    • Adherence to approved curricula in the allotted time for each instructional module.
    • Logistical management of classroom and training resources (MS PowerPoint, digital documents/manuals, whiteboards, handouts, etc.)
    • Operation of Procedures Trainers (PTs) and flight training devices (FTDs)
  • Must be willing to assess pilot performance and the student’s ability to operate the aircraft safely and efficiently in all phases of flight, including during normal and non-normal operations
  • Must be a good listener and willing to solicit feedback from attendees and others for on course critiques
  • Must be customer service focused and committed to providing a premier experience

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
    • Commercial Pilot Certificate
    • Applicant should be familiar with technology required for the position including, but not limited to:
      • Use of Apple iPad tablet
      • Conversant in the technology required to access company and client distributive training, email, schedules and meetings
      • Conversant in the use of MS PowerPoint
    • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive, the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for a U.S.- based position (Religious or medical exemptions will be considered)
