Job Overview
The Flight Training Procedures Instructor (FTPI) is responsible for conducting comprehensive training modules including New Hire Pilot Indoctrination, Return to Work (RTW) Pilot Reorientation, and Instructor/Evaluator Principles of Instruction (POI) courses. All instruction is delivered in strict accordance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. This role encompasses classroom facilitation, instructor-led technical training, knowledge testing, and practical hands-on drills.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate instruction on diverse subjects including Security, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Operating Manuals, Crew Member Duties and Responsibilities, and Aircraft Performance.

Deliver technical training regarding Weight and Balance, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) usage, and Flight Planning and Dispatch Procedures.

Instruct on Principles of Instruction (POI) topics such as the Fundamental Principles of the Teaching-Learning Process, instructional methods, and performance evaluation techniques.

Conduct student progress assessments and prepare candidates for end-of-course examinations.

Assist with class scheduling, logistics coordination, and departmental communications.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of e-learning and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) programs.

Maintain safety-conscious behaviors across all operational processes and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Minimum of a two-year college degree or equivalent professional experience as an instructor or facilitator.

Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.

Proven ability to prioritize safety, security, and data privacy.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must be eligible to obtain an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate and secure this certification within twelve months of hire (if not already held).

Successful completion of the Delta Instructor/Evaluator Indoctrination and Academic Instructor Qualification curriculum.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience with air carrier training programs.

Experience teaching technical, non-technical, and compliance-based training modules.

Current FAA Ground Instructor Certificate with Advanced and/or Instrument Rating (AGI or IGI).

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument Rating, or military equivalent.

FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate or military equivalent.
