Flying Operations Pilot Assist operating 24/7 – 365 days in support of all pilots system wide.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
+ Supervises the daily Pilot Assist operation while providing customer service to the pilot group.
+ Researches issues brought forward from the Coordinators, leaders, employees and pilots, managing staffing schedule,
+ Performance Management for assigned team member and developing both strategic and tactical plans that supports the operation and a safe working environment for the team.
+ Provides oversite of administrative/operational calls and walk-in’s from pilots and moderators working the Crew Assist responding to pilots via application on pilot’s tablet.
+ Ensure team evaluates and determines escalation for pilot compliance regarding administrative policies and practices.
+ Provides direction as needed to Coordinators working a variety of issues for all pilots system-wide including pay, scheduling, training, policy enforcement, Flight Crew Reports (FCR), and expense approval.
Supervisors will be able to finalize the verification and certification of FAA medicals, issue FAA temporary medical & Pilot Certificates, monitor to ensure Coordinators are working the Pilot Assist and Tablet and Media inbox emails, administration of the Death in Family benefit and arrangements, Pass Bureau tracking and audits, passport and visa renewal processes, jumpseat program process, return to work process, pilot document updates in DBMS, Deltanet and ESS navigation assistance, Tier 2 support for the tablet to include ensure Service Manager EFB – QCQ – E-Learning – LMS trouble tickets are handled within the SLA with IT and monitor Coordinator’s working special projects assigned by the Manager – Pilot Assist.
Position is structured within Pilot Assist to support the operation and business issues of over 13,000 Delta Air Lines pilots and requires coordination with management & FAA as well as responding to Irregular Operations (IROPS) which may necessitate periods extended coverage and support of the coordinators.
Position may require some travel.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Proficient knowledge of Deltanet, Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Federal Aviation Requirements (FARs), and Pilot Working Agreement (PWA) is required.
+ Prior experience in the Pilot Assist, Crew Scheduling, the Chief Pilot Office, or Crew Resources, or relevant operational experience is required.
+ Experience with DBMS, OSS, and DLTerm computer systems is required.
+ Must be able to communicate with pilots regarding to proprietary, confidential, legal, complex, or sensitive issues.
+ Strong written and verbal communications skills is required.
+ Must be able to relate to the pilot profession in order to maintain an attitude of pilot advocacy for each line pilot.
+ Will require shift work involving rotating shifts.
+ Should be performing satisfactorily in present position.
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ A diverse background in Delta’s various operational departments is strongly recommended.
+ Should be able to effectively manage multiple complex operational, administrative, and/or personnel issues simultaneously.
+ Should have 5 or more years’ experience in airline operations with at least 3 years in Flight Operations.
+ Previous Delta supervisory experience and college degree preferred.
