The Head of Pilot Resource Management Reports to the DFO and is responsible for:

Reporting to the DFO for the management of the pilots and pilot manpower planning;

Owner of the Flight Crew Policy manual and the Rostering and Crewing manuals;

Ensure flight crew establishment is adequately maintained with appropriately qualified personnel;
-
The production of monthly performance reports with particular reference to manning levels, crew basing, operational and overhead costs;
-
Recommending the appointment, promotion and standard of discipline of the Flight Deck Crew;
-
To be accountable for the effective management of all issues relating to the welfare, administration, discipline and career/personal development of the pilots and his staff and for the development of a working environment that will sponsor greater employee motivation;

To maintain effective two-way communication with Flight Crew, in order to establish closer relationships thereby increasing awareness of their contribution to an airline’s success, generating improved performance and greater business understanding;

Actively develop the Pilot community and provide mentoring and coaching opportunities to maximise the development of the community;
-
Liaison with the Pilot Welfare Manager for the monitoring of Flight Deck Crew absence;
-
In liaison with the HR, monitor and review policies and procedures that have Human Resource implications for Flight Crew;
-
Management of rostering patterns and Flight Time limitations in the fleet and making recommendations for their improvement;

Management and development of Rostering and Crewing practises and manuals to support the work of CLA;

Amendment and maintenance of Pilot policies and procedures in the Flight Crew Policy manual in liaison with the DFO;

Maintenance of the Company Pilot Seniority list;

Minimising conflict and dissatisfaction taking into account current policies and the implications of his/ her actions for colleague managers;
-
Assisting the Rostering Manager in establishment planning;
-
Responsible for the Pilot Recruitment and Induction processing;
-
Maintenance of the pay process in liaison with Payroll and the variations in individual pay awards and contract changes due to promotion and working agreements;

The conduct and appearance of Flight Crew to ensure the best possible customer interface thereby ensuring pilots understand and support the Company Vision and Values;

The selection and recruitment of pilots;
-
Planning the resource requirements for the Flight Operations department;
-
Required member of the Flight Ops Safety Action Group;
-
Carrying out any other reasonable task as required in pursuit of Company efficiency and requirements.
