Instructor Pilot - Las Vegas, NV
CAE is seeking a dedicated and experienced aviation professional to join our team as an Instructor Pilot in Las Vegas. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition from the cockpit to the classroom, shaping the next generation of pilots within a world-class training environment. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional flight training in a simulator and ground school, adhering to all regulatory guidelines, CAE-approved curricula, and specific client requirements. He or she will act as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding clients through their training journey with expertise and professionalism. After a period of 1.5+ years, based on business needs, designated instructors will be expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide simulator/flight or classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- Fulfill necessary administrative duties, including maintaining training records, recommending remedial training when needed, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the creation of curricula and courseware, when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or college degree preferred; High School diploma or state-issued equivalent required.
- 2-5 years of related job-relevant experience in a similar capacity.
- Previous experience in teaching or training is preferred.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a customer service-oriented approach to all work assignments.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Must be able to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Existing instructor qualification or type rating is preferred.
- Must hold or have held a professional pilot's license.
- Preferred: FAR Part 135 experience with a minimum of 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Preferred: An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
For Internal Candidates:
Ideal internal candidates are currently in good standing and TCE qualified on the Global7500 or an existing TCE on another platform. CAE Instructors with a strong interest in this role are encouraged to apply for further consideration.
Additional Information:
- Training for this position will include international travel and extended stays.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks that require hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.
- Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn.
