Instructor Pilot - Las Vegas, Nevada

CAE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor Pilot to join our team in Las Vegas. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned aviation professional to transition from the cockpit to the classroom, contributing their expertise to the development of future pilots.

The Instructor Pilot will be responsible for delivering comprehensive flight training in both flight simulators and ground school settings. Instruction will adhere to all relevant regulatory agency standards, CAE approved curricula, and specific customer requirements. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding clients through their training programs and ensuring a successful learning experience. After approximately 1.5 years, and in accordance with business needs, successful candidates will be expected to pursue qualification as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing simulator and classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types, facilitating the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conducting thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings, adhering to all CAE standards.
  • Completing necessary administrative duties, such as maintaining training records, recommending remedial training when appropriate, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activities.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development of curricula and courseware, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; a high school diploma or state-issued equivalent is required.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a related field.
  • Prior experience in teaching or training is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Must possess authorization to live and work in the United States.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
  • Must be able to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Existing instructor qualification or type rating is preferred.
  • Holds or has held a professional pilot's license.
  • Preferred: FAR Part 135 experience with 3,000 hours of total flight time.
  • Preferred: An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.

For Internal Candidates:

Ideal internal candidates will be in good standing and possess TCE qualifications on the Global 7500, or hold an existing TCE qualification on another platform. Interested CAE Instructor Pilots are encouraged to apply for consideration and further discussion.

*Training for these roles will include international travel and extended stays.

*Relocation assistance will be provided for qualified candidates in the event local candidates are not found.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role requires physical dexterity in tasks involving hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, climb, and twist/turn.
