Flight Simulator Instructor - On Call (Fixed Term)
Overview
This role involves conducting training duties in accordance with CAE's Flight Simulator Instructor (FSI) job description. Reporting to the Head of Training (HOT), the FSI is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality training in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Implement training activities as outlined in the FSI job description.
- Adhere to the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend revisions where necessary.
- Contribute to the development and preparation of courseware and training materials, including theoretical examinations, to meet Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) standards.
- Collaborate with the Simulator Technical department to ensure simulators are maintained to required training standards.
- Monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to support students who require additional assistance.
- Promote and support continuous improvements in processes, documentation, courseware, and training materials used by the training organization.
- Participate in Progress, Academic, and Disciplinary Review Boards, providing recommendations for remedial action regarding training progress and disciplinary issues.
- Conduct Flight Full-Flight Simulator (FFS)/Flight Training Device (FTD) training sessions as required, in conjunction with office duties.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Lead Instructor or HOT.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 1000 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) experience on a multi-crew jet transport.
- Valid Simulator Instructor Rating or equivalent rating/certification.
- ICAO-recognized ATPL/CPL/MPL with minimum ICAO English level 5.
- Previous experience in airline or ATO training.
- Previous experience as a TRI/TRE/SFI/FI/DFE.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of AQP/EBT/CBTA/IEC.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil aviation regulations governing training.
- Motivated and disciplined individual with initiative, capable of delivering results on time and motivating others in a remote working environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels internally and externally.
- Proven leadership skills and experience working effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Basic IT skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
