Job Summary
The First Officer is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring safe and timely flight operations. This role requires strict adherence to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the First Officer include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the safe and timely completion of all flight operations in accordance with Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Assuming responsibility for the operation of the aircraft during the designated duty period, unless relieved by Company authority. This encompasses operations during weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Verifying the airworthy condition of the assigned aircraft through thorough completion of appropriate pre- and post-flight inspections.
- Becoming thoroughly familiar with existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and alternate stations prior to each flight.
- Ensuring the flight is planned and fueled appropriately to be conducted safely.
- Assisting with and ensuring the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points, maintaining awareness of on-time departures.
- Promptly notifying crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
- Ensuring the load manifest for a flight is reviewed and the passenger count is verified prior to each departure.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 1,500 hours total flight time is required, with 2,500 hours preferred.
- Must possess 750 hours of multi-engine fixed-wing flight time.
- Requires 500 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 500 hours in jet or turboprop aircraft is necessary.
- A current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate is mandatory.
- Must hold an ATP Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit is required.
- Possession of a valid US Passport with machine-readable print, or a valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States, is essential.
- Must have the ability to travel internationally to all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Ability and willingness to relocate is required.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including “red eyes.”
- Ability and desire to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance is expected.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks is required.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment, including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), is preferred.
- Compliance with company COVID policies, including a requirement for new hires to be fully vaccinated by their first day of employment, is expected to the degree permitted by law.

Working Conditions & Equipment
The role involves working in an aircraft cockpit and potentially in standard office environments. Equipment used includes:
- Standard office equipment (PC, copier, fax machine, printer)
- iPad or Electronic Tablet
- Aircraft and Aircraft Controls
- Company manuals and Navigation charts
- Flashlight
Physical Effort
The position requires moderate physical activity, including occasionally handling objects up to 50 pounds and frequently handling objects up to 20 pounds.
