The Breeze Lift Program Overview
The Breeze Lift program is a defined time-building partnership designed to assist qualified pilots in achieving the necessary flight hours to meet Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums and transition smoothly into a Breeze Airways First Officer role. Selected participants receive a conditional job offer from Breeze Airways upon acceptance into the program.
Pilot candidates will be initially employed as First Officers by Breeze's partner, SkyShare. Upon successful upgrade to Captain at SkyShare, the pilot receives a guaranteed seniority number with Breeze Airways. After all program requirements are fulfilled, the pilot is placed in the pool for a First Officer Training class in Salt Lake City, UT.
The initial starting salary for the Breeze Lift First Officer role is set at $30,000 per year.
Program Structure and Career Path
- The Breeze Lift program is exclusively for pilots possessing a minimum of 1,200 hours, actively working toward ATP minimums.
- Pilots commence employment with the partner organization, SkyShare, operating as a Pilatus PC-12 First Officer to accrue necessary flight time.
- Upon reaching upgrade minimums and successfully completing the 135.299 line check, the Lift Pilot receives a guaranteed Breeze seniority number.
- The pilot continues employment with SkyShare, transitioning to a Pilatus PC-12 Captain role for a minimum tenure of 18 months.
- Once all contractual requirements are met, the pilot is scheduled for transition into the Breeze Airways First Officer training pool.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Lift Pilots operate within the framework of both Breeze Airways' core values and SkyShare's operational standards, focusing on safety, proficiency, and professional development. Responsibilities include:
- Executing flight operations involving the transportation of Breeze aircraft parts and key team members across the network.
- Maintaining consistent communication by providing regular progress updates to the Breeze team regarding time-building milestones.
- Achieving all requisite minimum flight requirements and successfully completing the upgrade process to Captain within SkyShare.
- Serving a minimum duration of 18 months as a PC-12 Captain with the partner organization, SkyShare.
- Maintaining good operational standing with SkyShare, including securing a favorable recommendation from leadership for transition to Breeze.
- Fostering continued technical and professional development in preparation for the transition to the Part 121 environment.
- Upholding the CRM concept of “Assertiveness with Respect” during all phases of flight.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems pertinent to the aircraft flown, ensuring a high degree of proficiency.
- Successfully completing ATP-CTP training concurrently with the Captain upgrade.
- Adhering to continued learning and development in line with Breeze Airways' core values: Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence.
- Performing other operational duties as assigned by the Company.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates for the Breeze Lift program must meet stringent flight time requirements and possess the regulatory certifications listed below:
Required Certifications and Flight Time (at time of application)
- Total Time in fixed-wing aircraft: Minimum 1,200 hours
- Fixed Wing Pilot in Command (PIC): 1,000 hours
- Multi-Engine Flight Time: 50 hours
- Instrument Flight Time: 50 hours
- Cross Country Flight Time: 100 hours
- Possession of an FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Certificate with an airplane multi-engine class rating.
- Possession of an FAA Instrument Rating.
- Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
General Requirements
- Must be at least 23 years old at the time of hire.
- Successful completion of both the Breeze Airways and SkyShare selection processes is mandatory.
- Required knowledge and ability to quickly transition to the 121-operating environment.
- Mandatory adherence to FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) regulations regarding the accurate maintenance and disclosure of pilot training history.
- Must have the capacity and knowledge to assess operational risk and apply proper resources to mitigate risk to an acceptable level during all ground and flight operations.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
- Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and a valid U.S. passport.
- Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Proficiency in the English language (ability to read, write, speak, and understand).
- Must be willing to relocate or currently reside within a one-hour driving distance of the Charleston, SC Airport (CHS).
- Must successfully pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and a TSA-required fingerprint-based criminal history records check, along with a standard Breeze background check.
