Vice President of Flight Operations / Director of Operations

Breeze Airways is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as the Vice President of Flight Operations and the 14 CFR Part 119.65 Director of Operations (DO). Based at our headquarters in Cottonwood Heights, UT, the successful candidate will provide system-wide operational oversight, ensuring that all flight operations align with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and the airline's mission to make travel simple, affordable, and convenient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the 14 CFR Part 119 Director of Operations, holding primary responsibility for operational control of the Air Carrier Certificate and Operations Specifications (OpsSpecs).
  • Coordinate with the FAA’s Principal Operations Inspector regarding regulatory compliance and manual systems.
  • Develop and maintain Flight Operations policies, procedures, and manuals to ensure safety, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Oversee the training, checking, and qualification of crew members, instructors, and dispatchers.
  • Manage the integration of operational, safety, and regulatory changes across the organization.
  • Review crew member schedules to ensure legal and efficient operations.
  • Participate in the Pilot Hiring Committee and review qualifications for new hire pilots.
  • Monitor operational data to drive improvements, manage divisional budgets, and oversee the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) board.
  • Maintain RVSM and LLM authorizations and serve as the primary authority for electronic record-keeping and flight planning systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must meet the requirements for Director of Operations under 14 CFR Part 119.65(a).
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years exercising operational control over 14 CFR Part 121 large aircraft operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as Pilot in Command (PIC) under 14 CFR Part 121 or 135 in large aircraft (within the last 6 years for first-time DO applicants).
  • Possess a valid FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating.
  • Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and a TSA fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Director of Operations.
  • Prior experience working with a Part 121 carrier.
