The Opportunity:

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CH-47F Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) to join the CISS Contract in Townsville, commencing in January 2025. The successful candidate will be integrated into the School of Army Aviation Chinook Wing, playing a pivotal role in training and instruction.

Responsibilities:

The CH-47F QFI will be responsible for:

  • Conducting airborne instruction in the CH-47F platform.
  • Delivering synthetic instruction in the CH-47F simulator.
  • Providing ground instruction related to the CH-47F.
  • Participating in general CH-47F flying operations.
  • Executing related flying, instructional, and administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining flying currency and qualifications in accordance with AAAvn Command requirements.
  • Promoting a safe and effective work environment.
  • Contributing to team performance improvements.

Essential Experience/Qualifications:

  • Possession of a CH-47F QFI Category C certification.
  • CH-47F NVIS Command qualification.
  • Group 4 Instrument Rating.
  • Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Commercial Pilot License - Helicopter (CPL-H) or higher.
  • Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Current CASA Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance of Non-Vetted Level 1.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

  • CH-47F QFI Category B or A certification.
  • Group 4 Instrument Rating Assessor qualification.
  • CH-47F TFPS Instructor Operator Simulator qualification.
  • CH-47F Maintenance Pilot qualification.
  • Experience as a Simulator Reference Pilot.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements specific to Boeing Defence Australia site positions will apply. These will be outlined by the recruitment manager, in consultation with the Environment, Health & Safety Department. A formal assessment will be required for specific roles.
